Millbury Savings Bank awards local students college scholarships

MILLBURY, MASSACHUSETTS, June 1, 2004 … We awarded $4,000 in college scholarships this year to nine area high school students, as part of our ongoing commitment to support the educational pursuits of area students.

Three Millbury residents received Millbury Savings Bank scholarship awards through the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Millbury. Millbury High School graduate Ian Luksha received the $1,000 scholarship awarded annually in memory of the Bank’s former treasurer, Marjorie A. Matson. Millbury High School graduates Ryan McKeon received a $1,000 scholarship and David Wood received a $500 scholarship.

The Bank has awarded scholarships through the Citizens’ Scholarship Foundation of Millbury since 1973.

Six Sutton residents received $250 scholarship awards through Sutton Memorial Junior-Senior High School. All Sutton High School graduates, they are Emily Groves, Lauren Mahler, Daniel Kamyck, James Lehner, Steven Lachowski and Katherine Hayes. Millbury Savings Bank has awarded scholarships to Sutton students since 1995.
