Millbury Savings Bank has pledged to donate $10,000 over three years to the Millbury Parents Club, to help support the club’s mission of funding educational activities and cultural experiences for all students of the Millbury Public Schools.
“Our town’s schoolchildren benefit directly from the programs that Millbury Parents Club helps fund,” said Robert J. Morton, Millbury Savings Bank’s president and chief executive officer. “We are happy to provide support so that the club’s dedicated volunteers can continue to help enrich kids’ experiences.”
The Millbury Parents Club hosts fundraisers throughout the year to support various educational and cultural events for the Millbury Public Schools that are not funded by the school budget. Some of the initiatives for which the club raises money include Reading Is Fundamental, buses for field trips to Camp Bournedale, Plimouth Plantation, the Hanover Theater Experience, Sturbridge Village, A.L.I.C.E. safety program, and more.
"We’re thrilled about this new relationship with Millbury Savings Bank and are so thankful for their generosity and commitment to the students of Millbury,” said Rachel Decatur, Millbury Parents Club president. “Their support will allow us to continue to subsidize programs and events throughout the school year for all students of the Millbury Public Schools.”
