For Karen and Paul Weldon and John and Eunice Malkasian, one taste was all it took. After visiting a Cold Stone Creamery on vacation, they wanted a franchise of their own. Last year, they got their wish. All they needed was the right finance partner.

Paul says working with a local bank makes a difference. “Millbury Savings Bank really supports the local community. And decisions are made right here in town, by people I actually know,” he says. “The president of the bank comes in for ice cream all the time. Think that would happen if we chose one of the big banks?”

Since opening last fall, Cold Stone Creamery has been red hot. The Millbury store was one of the top producers in the country the last two months running.
