Millbury Savings donates $5,000 for Millbury Little League scoreboard.
Millbury Savings Bank has contributed $5,000 toward a new electronic scoreboard for the Millbury Little League. Unveiled at the May 3 Little League opening day ceremonies, the new electronic scoreboard at Washington Street field replaces one that was more than 15 years old. More importantly, according to Millbury Little League President John O’Brien, the new scoreboard includes a tally of pitch counts, making the local Little League eligible to host district and state tournaments.
“Youth sports are critical to building kids’ competitive spirit and sense of teamwork and camaraderie, not to mention their physical fitness,” said Millbury Savings Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Robert J. Morton. “That’s why Millbury Savings Bank is a major sponsor of so many youth sports teams in the community, and why we’re happy to be a major donor of this new scoreboard.”
Along with members of the Millbury Savings Bank Little League team players are (L-R) team coaches Derek Raymond and Jeff Kozlowski, Millbury Savings Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Robert J. Morton, and team manager Bob Ayotte.
